About LongTermCareAmerica.com
Allen Astin
Creator of LongTermCareAmerica.com, Allen began specializing in long term care insurance in 2000 by training with the country’s top long term care agents in the insurance division of GE Financial.
Allen has always had a consumer advocacy approach to selling insurance: This is the “Would I sell this product to my own family?” approach. Allen requires that, “Any agent working with LongTermCareAmerica.com must have the desire to put the client’s needs first as well as the knowledge and products to carry this out.” LongTermCareAmerica.com was created in 2004 with this same consumer advocacy approach.
Working with a team of underwriters, policy specialists, and agents from some of the top companies in the world, LongTermCareAmerica.com can provide the level of personalized service that long term care clients demand.
Allen is now a trusted agent of families, financial advisors, and attorneys because he simplifies this complex issue and because he sells only well respected companies like John Hancock, MetLife, United of Omaha, Prudential, OneAmerica, and others. He is also an advisor and mentor to other agents in the industry.
With a degree in psychology from the University of California, Allen became an insurance agent in 1997. His move to specialize in long term care insurance was due partly by a remark his mother made. She said, “If you really want to help people, educate them about long term care insurance and what could happen to them without it.”
In 2005 the The American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance had ranked Allen as one of the top 100 long term care agents in the country. Licensed in Texas and California, he enjoys life in Conroe, Texas with his wife and two daughters.
Gerry Nelson
After graduating from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a
Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree, Gerry was commissioned as a 2nd
Lt in the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers and immediately embarked on his
active duty assignment. After his honorable discharge, he
returned to school and received an MBA from Wharton Graduate School of
Business.
He spent 8 years with Trans World Airlines, planning and developing
its airport and other ground facilities throughout the world. He
then spent 17 years in the heavy construction industry followed by 20
years in the real estate industry.
Gerry’s mother spent the last eight years of her life in an expensive
assisted care facility which depleted her assets. Long term care
insurance was in its infancy and almost unheard of when she would have
been eligible to apply. Because of this experience as well as
having grand children, Gerry
has dedicated himself to helping others protect their quality of life
and their legacies.
Understanding the need for specialization, Gerry has opted to sell only long term care insurance and Medicare supplements. He represents many of the major carriers and assist clients in selecting policies and riders most suited to their individual needs and financial abilities.
Gerry now resides in northern California with his wife, Joanne,
where they are actively involved with their children and grandchildren.
